“It Is What It Is”
Matthew P. Waszkiewicz, 56, passed away March 28, 2024. He was born in Akron to the late Paul and Candace (Vaughn), was a highly skilled carpenter, and worked with his close friend Alex for 32 years.
Matthew had a zest for life, was a renowned jokester … and loved his beer. He also had a talent as “The Weather Man”, you could always count on him for the weather. He was always willing to help anyone in need and was a great father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his children, Matthew II (Kayla), Kristin and Hunter; granddaughter, Elliana; siblings, Jimmy (Francie), Rachel and Anna Biggs; step-father, John Biggs; the mother of his children, Kathy; best friends, Mark, Alex and Ray; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305. A memorial service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Darrell Frazier officiating. After the service, a memorial dinner will be held at Allenside Athletic Club, 2533 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH 44319 starting at 7 p.m..
